VOLUNTEER UPDATE for AUGUST 8th, 2009
We have had a very productive weekend with the help of the 665th Engineer Company and CPT Eric J. Bowser, Company Commander, from Brookville, PA. The unit came on Friday and Saturday and together with our local volunteers, much work was done on the Habitat House. This included putting the exterior walls up and installing the trusses. Preliminary landscaping was done with the removal of an apple tree and a cherry tree. For those of you who were there, yes, the Reserves' PLS (Palletized Loading System) did it! We hooked it up to the large apple tree stump and with a little push on the throttle, out it came!
This coming week’s work schedule looks like this:
Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, Aug. 10th, 11th, and 12th – we would like to get the facial and rake boards on the roof and put on the roof OSB sheathing.
Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Aug. 12th, 13th, and 14th – we would like to shingle the roof.
Saturday, August 15th – we would like to build the interior walls.
Please let me know as soon as possible (by e-mail at jrcmblain@aol.com) as to which project you can help with! On Saturday, the women’s group from St. Mary’s Catholic Church will be providing lunch for all the Volunteers.
Thank you once again for all of your interest and help in our Roulette House.

Potter County Habitat Volunteer Coordinators
